School Girl Inspired Look

What do you think about a back-to-school inspired look? I think it is never a bad idea to revisit the good old days for styling inspiration. Whether you are going for a new semester at school or just having a party with school-inspired theme, both of these style will help you look even cooler than you did years ago! So why don’t we start right away?

School inspired look is somehow always connected with plaids, which actually still here to stay for every season. That’s a positive thing, right? So when you are going to sport all of this school inspired look, people won’t look at you like your style was so yesterday. To make a schoolgirl look appropriate for you today, you gotta make sure to stay away from entire outfits that are reminiscent of uniforms.

For the first style, I’m going with soft color to create a girlier look. What you need to find first is a plaid skirt, but don’t mix it with a white shirt, opt for a cute cami instead. Tuck it into the skirt and add an oversized knit cardigan over your cami. Cardigan is of course a fall piece, so it’s basically on trend and it will not only help you creating a school girl look, but also to warm you up from the cold weather outside.

Now moving on to some accessories. I recommend you to wear a long necklace that can make a fun statement. Also, bring your notebook and put it inside a simple brown cross body bag. For the footwear, you need to ditch your high socks! Just keep the look simple with a pair of trendy loafers, that does not only scream “school girl” but also “fabulous”! Before you go out from the house, spray a little perfume on your wrist and neck! This outfit is a reminiscent of the classic school girl that’s absolutely everyone’s favourite.

Who does not love Gossip Girl? The first season of this super stylish TV series showed us a lot of scenes where Serena and Queen Blair Waldorf sporting those gorgeous school uniform that just made us want to look exactly like them! You know what? We absolutely can! Read on and I will tell you how.

For the second style I prefer a darker look. I have always had a thing for green mixed with blue plaid skirt or pants and as soon as I laid my eyes on this Topshop skirt, I knew that I had to create a school girl look with that. Pair this chic skirt with a buttown down shirt with peter pan collar (if you could find one), but instead of wearing a blazer over it, you should try to wear a black draped vest over your button down shirt – this is so Serena van der Woodsen!

Complete the look with a boxy leather back pack, a couple of huge rings to make a statement and a pair of platform shoes. Again, you can ditch the socks! This look is sophisticated and comfortable at the same time. The combination of plaid mini skirt, white button down shirt, and black vest will create a back to school inspired outfit that is super classy.
