For once at this troubled moments, we can finally see beautiful designs to at least refresh our minds for a while. New York Fashion Week has arrived and to break down the best of the best, we are selecting the top 6 looks from Fall 2017 collections. See below:
First thing first, Adam Selman’s Fall 2017 collection is on the top of our list because: what could be better than wearing a relaxed suit (and in pink!) with a pair of Chuck Taylor on the runway! Other reason why, is because Adam Selman tried to develop patches and subtle buttons for this collection. The lineup that was induced in double denim jacket and skirt, a combination of sheer top and denim jeans embroidered with ruby red roses — and not to mention those rose-embroidered Chuck Taylor he did in partnership with Converse, but too bad they’re not for sale! — was amazing. Really though, just look at that rose embroidered sheer top!
This was one of the most anticipated shows of the season! This collection was a debut from Raf Simons for Calvin Klein and it was all about American youth. The show vibrated with bright colors like that yellow coat that was sheated in plastic or an ensemble that contains a dark magenta colored ribbed knit skirt with a grey blazer for the top. In the other hand, some of the looks were wearable for both male and female, including the crisp tailored suits and sporty trousers with stripes. The show was fantastic, and it will definitely build a new image for CK under Simons.
CREATURES OF COMFORT
It’s said that this Fall 2017 collection from Creatures of Comfort was inpsired by glamping. Yes, glamping is glamour camping. Founder Jade Lai wanted to be outdoor more, so she created this collection. Looks ranging from velvet pants, to khaki ensemble, and micro gingham coordinated top and pants to hot pink ensemble completed with macrameé vest. However, we don’t think we have the heart to wear these looks for camping, because they’re too delicate and amazing.
Chris Leba said that punk and the 90s are always his references. And of course, those were showcased in his R13 Fall 2017 collection, especially with those Cobain printed oversized sweaters, high neck white shirts worn backwards paired with cropped flare pants, floral print dresses, black leather jacket, and the Dr Martens inspired boots. The silhouettes were beautfiul and we love it!
For us, looking at Eckhaus Latta’s Fall 2017 collection felt like watching That 70’s Show. Yes. The collection went near the seventies with its bright floral skirt with cropped knit tops, or the floral printed blouse layered with a knit crop top and pink trousers plus clogs-like boots. It was outstanding!
This was the latest collection from Mary-Kate and Ashley. Still with their timeless aesthetic, these clothes were all super rich looking. From the golden trench coat, washed-satin gowns, cashmere shirts, white blouse tucked into a pair of black denim jeans, and also those triple wrapped belts — everything gave us the luxurious vibe and they were just perfect.
