A pleated skirt can be flattering to all body types too, because it actually glides with the body. While pencil skirts are still on your favourite list, you should try to say hello to the flowy pleated skirt.

Girls, you can style pleated skirts in a million different ways. However, because pleated skirts are loose flowing it is important to wear something up top that is form fitting to avoid a “frumpy” look. Now let’s start styling.

Update your simple pelated skirt by wearing the ones that is printed. A colorful print pleated skirt like the one I used on the picture above will instantly take this skirt to a new level, allowing you to go further and switch the simple look to a more chic look.

For the top, remember to wear something that is quite form fitting to your body. It will help give you curve if you are a petite, and if you have a perfect hourglass figure, a form fitting top combined with pleated skirt can help you accentuate your curves. Choose a bright plain top and tuck it into the skirt to achieve the curvy silhouette.

Complete the look with a pair of flatform sandals. They will complement your outfit, especially if the color of your sandals are neutral like white, and is the same with one of the colors in the skirt. This rule works too with the bag. Not using a lot of color will help your pleated skirt to stand out more. Pink nails will also add a bit of interest to your whole look. This ensemble is perfect for a day out under the sun!

If there’s one thing you buy this season to perk up your closet, it is pleated skirt. Pleated skirts make you stand tall and urges you to act girly, since it is indeed, quite feminine. It’s the best fashion piece to wear for a date with your boyfriend or a cute lunch with your girlfriends or mom. This piece is incredibly versatile.

As with any full skirt, the pleated skirt is making a statement. Like what I said earlier, don’t try to add further fluffy accents to your look. Keep the rest of your outfit simple and paired down. The easiest way to wear a plain pleated skirts like this one is to tuck in a printed blouse to it. You could also add a high waisted belt to cinch everything in and cover the waistband.

Add an elegant bracelet or cuffs, a leather handbag that will keep your make up, phone, and belongings safely, and last but not least, mix this look with a pair of nude flats for an extra girly touch! If you’ve kept your look minimal, the flippy accordian pleat detail of the skirt becomes the major eye candy.
