OMG, it’s so hard for us to keep up will all these impressive collections from Milan Fashion Week. Let us just show you our favorite things straight off the runways!
Miuccia’s Fall 2015 collection in Milan Fashion Week was brilliant. All the Prada girls playing grown-up, walking on the runways in menswear-inspired candy-colored suits. Prada showed us that we can totally wear three different candy colors in one ensemble without even making us look like a walking lollipo. And look at those glittering, oversized statement brooch stuck on every vest, blazer, and dresses, amazing! Those are absolutely the new statement accessory you need next season. As for the make up and hair do, Prada reinvented ponytail, clipping the hair to the side of the models’ heads with, of course, a giant jeweled barrettes. Need we say more?
And what abou Fendi? As always, Karl Lagerfeld still has that clean and simple aesthetic for his designs. Our old time favourite models, like Karlie Kloss, Joan Smalls, Lily Donaldson, Lindsey Wixon, stalked the catwalk wearing custom leather headbands and huge, huge coats. Karlie’s black coat and long skirt with fur trim was exceptional, but our most favourite look will be Kendall’s voluminous plaid puffer that was combined with a matching short skirt in shades of brown and black. It’s super chic!
Jil Sander Fall 2015 collection was filled with clothes you definitely want inside your wardrobe. It focused on the basics, like coats, pants, knits, and footwear. Keeping the coats very long and slim, with bright prints and chevron stripes. The whole collection was totally wearable and we love it. It looked smart.
Blumarine’s Fall 2015 show focused on jackets in fir and slouchy mohair sweaters. The collection was inspired by Baby Jane Holzer and sophisticated travelers, and we can see it right away. Model strutted down the runway in beautiful pastel colored sweaters, cozy turtlenecks, and floral skirt, completed with pairs of bold patent leather booties in black and soft pink. So fancy, right? Who doesn’t want that?
Max Mara show opened with Gigi Hadid walking on the runway hugged by this all-nude slip dress and a fabulous camel coat. Only from this look, we know that the whole collection will be good, and it will be all about coats. It is true, the coats were the main part of the show but there were other highlights too! We fell in love with that grey long sweater worn over a similar colored midi skirt, also the monochromatic combo of a sheer turquoise top with a sexy quilted midi-length pencil skirt. This type of skirt will definitely offer women with curves a maximum advantage, and they look great. Max Mara succeeded in making us want to wear all of those cashmere coats and oversized knits. Oh, and the show made us love Gigi Hadid even more.
Moving on to Marni. The fall 2015 collection was full of a series of long and lean coat dresses with bold leather belt and pythoon boots. It reminded us of warrior princesses, or maybe a Jedi? Our favourite though, was the cream and brown coats with large fur pockets and sleeves – we guess that’s the freshest way to wear fur for the upcoming season!
Dolce & Gabbana
Dolce & Gabbana just nailed it, that’s why we put 6 pictures of the designs for the last review. Designers Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana dedicated their show to the world’s mothers and that was one of the most charming moments of Milan Fashion Week. It’s only rare to see pretty toddlres and cute babies showcasing designer’s collection. Roses were still the main point of the show – they were emblazoned on the dresses, skirts, and coats. Models look elegant with their simple updos.
Our favourite were the gowns that looked like it was painted by your daughter or your son. We guess Angelina’s kids drawings on clothes has become a ‘thing’ now, but it is pretty fun to look at gowns with little kid’s drawings! It’s incredibly chic, heart-warming, and cute, don’t you think? It’s even better with the headphones that were decorated with jewels and fur on it. Damn, the whole show felt warm and happy. I Love You Mamma!
We are so sad to see that Milan Fashion Week has come to an end, but we’re looking forward to see a lot of great pieces at Paris Fashion Week! So see you again!
