Third stop, Milan. Here, not in chronological order, are our favourite collections from Milan Fashion Week Fall 2017, which made us want to buy and wear them right away. All because of the prints and the color palette, oh and also the silhouettes, made us feel romantic.
This collection was very polished and strong shoulders were the focus at the show. First you can see them from the body con turtleneck top with puff sleeves combined with a very chic pair of pants, and then followed by those strong shoulder, high waisted dresses that came in dusty pink, blue and yellow. These looks felt so vintage and they were beautiful. The show ended with a series of silk dresses in dusty shades of gold, rose and blue. It was the best.
Might be confusing on first look, but oh my… When you look at the collection again, you will understand how brilliant it was. It was Francesco Risso’s debut collection and the vibe was so 70s. From colorful huge coat with checkerboard patterned top, floral printed dresses with layering of striped bras, blue flared pants completed with fluffly sky blue coat. We love it, because it was so funky.
This has been one of our favourite shows from Milan because look at the gorgeous Halima Aden, who broke the Internet with her appearance at Max Mara show. She was wearing a hijab for the first look and the next look she wore a burkini for the swimwear round, we adore her! Models walked on the runway drapped in a velvet oversized tailored coat, Gigi Hadid strolled in a long crimson shearling, which was very sexy! The color palette ranging from crimson, brown, gray, camel, gold and black — so in short the collection was a classic luxury.
This Fall 2017 collection from Missoni was so fun and feisty. Just look at those multicolor zigzag printed knit vest that was worn over another pair of multicolored pants, knitted top over tonal patterned skirt, and color blocked pants combined with another color blocked blazer! The power of color and print clashing was so strong, and might be quite too much for some, but we think the collection was marvelous. Oh and at the end of the show, the brand outfitting guests and models with Missoni pink pussy hats, which is the symbol of protest and female solidarity!
Jil Sander collection this time will be what we really want to wear for the next winter, and we also want to wear some of them to the office. The tailoring for the show was all about volume, just like the biggest trend this season, Paglialunga designed a lot of exaggerated shoulders and sleeves. The pants were cropped nicely, perfect to show off the models’ footwear. This collection was clever.
DIESEL BLACK GOLD
Models strolled down the runway wrapped in shiny black leather shearling and trench over a long sweaterdress, completed with suede sneakers. There was also a grey almost black-ish knitted turtleneck tucked into a sexy button-front denim skirt and wworn under a coat with fur on the collar, which made Diesel Black Gold Fall 2017 collection felt so cool and had this grunge vibe to it. Our favourite was the leather trench and the camel colored sweater dresses and suede outer! We can’t get enough of them.
