Soon, a lot more people are going to be able to get their hands on Google Glass. If you haven’t heard about it, Google Glass is a smart eyewear that allows your digital life to blend seamlessly with your natural surroundings. Glass helps you get more out of what you love. It can be used to take pictures, find answers, record videos, get directions, etc.
It’s actually happening, people. Fashion is fully embracing wearable tech. After Ringly, now The Google Glass has gotten a stylish makeover from Diane von Furstenberg along with an in-house design team at Google who built versions in Titanium. If you remember, Diane von Furstenberg sent a gaggle of Google Glasses down her Spring ’13 runway.
Luxury e-commerce giant Net-a-Porter, and its men’s offshoot Mr. Porter, have announced that they’ll be the first third-party retailer to offer the coveted piece of fashion meets technology in just a few weeks.
The Google Glass will be launched this month, June 23rd to be exact. The “DVF | Made for Glass” will sell for $1,700 on Net-a-Porter. The package comes with Glass (the technology that lets you do everything), a DVF optical frame, sunglass style, earbuds, and also a case. Mr. Porter will begin selling a selection of Titanium options for $1,650 that will include Glass, a pair of optical frame, and sunglasses.
