Do you want to have cute and pretty nails but having no time to go to the nail salon? Or maybe you prefer to spend your money on some delicious F&B (like me! hahaha) rather than to spend it on a salon packet to get an artsy set of nails? Well, you can! Instead of spending on some money to pay someone else paint DIY nail arts for you, why don’t you literally Do-It-Yourself?
For starters, I am going to give you a step – by – step tutorial on how to make DIY Striped Nails. Here are the things you need before making it happen:
- Nail polishes, choose the colors you love. I picked Chameleon from OPI and Pure Pearl from Revlon to create a color contrast
- A nail art brush /nail pen
- Or a bobby pin
- Or a toothpick
Pick the color for your base (I picked chameleon for my base). So first, paint your nails with the base color and allow it to dry completely before moving on to the next step.
After it’s dry, you can easily dip your thin nail brush (or striper pen) into the bottle of your secondary nail color (in this case I picked the pure pearl).
Pick the pattern or design you want to paint on your nails. Dot the brush to create polka dots or drag it up & down or left to right to make stripes (you can also use a toothpick for stripes and bobby pins for polka dots).
Apply on a clear top coat to seal in your polish and add shine to your nails.
See? It’s easy. If you want the stripes to look perfect, you can use tape. However, I didn’t use tape for this DIY nail art because sometimes imperfection looks a lot prettier and more unique, am I right? ;–)
