Best Dressed: 2017 Met Gala

The Met Gala is here y’all! The theme for this year is to honour Japanese fashion legend Rei Kawakubo. Ms Kawakubo, the founder of Comme des Garçons is considered by many to be more of an artist than a designer. Her designs are always architectural, using amazing technique when it comes to silhouettes, draping, and fit. Plenty of celebrities pay tribute to the artist, arriving at the Met with adventurous looks, and we have picked our top 5 for the night:

Best Dress - Met Gala 2017

(1) Rihanna in Comme des Garçons
We always put Rihanna on our list, every time we created a Met Gala article. Because she has always ran with the Met Gala team, every year. This time, she wore a show stopping one: a 3D designed Comme des Garçons gown with red flowers that looked like they just finished blooming all over her body. Bravo! She killed it!

(2) Grace Hartzel in Dior
Umm, this might be not the best dress for this year’s Met Gala, but model Grace Hartzel actually followed the theme and slayed this avant-garde killer cabaret look. Plus, we have to focuse on her make up… She looked like she just came out from Rei Kawakubo’s art catalogue.

(3) Lily Collins in Tiffany Jewelry
Lily Collins always wows us. This year she arrived at the Met Gala wrapped in a black corseted top that was matched with this beautiful princess-like skirt. She then finished the whole look with a dark blunt cut ala Ms Kawakubo and black lipstick to match.

(4) Cara Delevingne in Chanel
Cara and her shaved head, bedazzled and painted in silver was one of the greatest look this year. She also wore brocade Chanel pantsuit from the Spring 2017 couture collection that looked super futuristic and elegant.Really tho, this is look can only be rocked by Cara.

(5) Katy Perry in Maison Margiela
Look at Katy Perry, look at her! Some people said she wore the worst dress, but not for me! I mean, c’mon this is Met Gala, it’s the one time of the year that you can wear the most unique outfit to a ball — and this is to honour the artist Rei Kawakubo. All the more reason to wear something bizarre!
