The other side of the world might be really cold right now since winter is still there, but for some of us who live in tropical areas, the sun shines all year round. So, going to the beach is not actually a “special” occassion because we can go there everytime. Because of this case, some people don’t seem to be overly concerned with what they wear to the beach. However, sometimes we want to look pretty too at the beach right?
When thinking about what to wear to the beach, just remember that you need to wear the most comfortable piece you’ve got since it’s going to be hot and you’ll be really sticky and stuff. So if you’re planning on a relaxing day at the beach, knowing what’s right to wear will make your day a great one! Here are some styles you can use for inspiration..
(Cotton Macramé Tank available at Band of Outsiders; Moto Brooke Acid Denim Hotpants available at Topshop; Denim Bikini available at Bikinians; Matte Round Sunglasses available at Forever 21; Straw Edge Detail Floppy Hat available at Topshop; Squishee II’ Tote available at Nordstorm; Johnny Flatforms available at ASOS)
The most important item to wear to the beach is of course a swimsuit. There’re lots of types of swimsuit but bikini remains the most popular type to wear to the beach right now. Denims are also in for summer, so why not try them on your bikini? It’s very unusual but totally appropriate and stylish to wear to the beach.
Then, if you have a crochet tank top but have no idea and not sure when to wear it, this is the perfect moment. You can wear crochet sleeveless top for your cover up at the beach. After that, team it with a pair of denim shorts for the ultimate summer look.
For the accessories, remember that your beach bag needs to be large enough to carry your towel, sunscreen, and other beach essentials. A straw tote bag like the one I used in the picture is the best kind of bag to carry to the beach. And for the shoes, make sure you wear a pair that is comfortable enough and can be easily removed when you want to swim. Also, make sure to wear one that can allow you to walk on the sand.
Last but not least, remember to bring an oversized sunglasses and straw hat to protect your eyes and face from the sun. They are glamorous and functional too, right?
(Mio Underwired Bandeau Swimsuit available at Norma Kamali; Printed Cotton And Silk-blend Voile Kaftan available at Emilio Pucci; Elaphe and Leather Raffia Wedge Sandals available at SEE by Chloe; Trinity Earrings available at Nasty Gal; Lipbalm available at Sephora)
I wanna create a more feminine look for the second style. For this look, you must remember this: Lightweight fabrics. Yes, a colorful cover up that’s made from cotton or chiffon is the perfect beach accessories to wear when you step out of the water — instead of tying a towel around your body.
This kind of cover up will be really useful especially when you want to go straight to have dinner at some restaurants or chilling out at bars that is close to the beach, you can easily slip on a cover-up and be properly attired. That’s why you need to choose a cover-up that provides enough coverage.
Flat sandals or flip flop will probably be the best footwear for the beach, however you can also wear wedges shoes if you want to go straight to the beachside cafe for drinks. Just remember to not wear any kind of high heels to the beach because flat or wedges work much than high heels. If you decided to wear wedges sandals, becareful to not hurt yourself.
Add some earrings to glam up your beach style. Take it off if you are going into the water but you can wear it again after you finish swimming. Unique earrings look absolutely fabulous to pair with this style. Don’t forget to apply sunscreen and lipbalm to protect your skin and lips before you spend the whole day at the beach.
So girls, comfort and lightness are the basic rule of beach outfit! From two styles above, which one do you like more?
